Mission: make bereavement better.
Exizent are a tech-for-good FinTech / LawTech building innovative bereavement technology that enables legal and financial professionals to settle estates when someone passes away.
Exizent approached us in December 2019 after securing £3.6 million in funding from FNZ and other partners (the largest amount of funding in Scotland that year) to build their new team and platform. From our very first conversations with founders Nick and Aleks we knew that we wanted to be a part of the Exizent journey. Their attitude, mission, values and beliefs really resonated with us. We knew that we could find them the people they needed, but more importantly that we could help them build the modern culture they wished. An inclusive, diverse culture built on empathy, trust and fairness.
Together we designed the ideal embedded talent acquisition package for their needs with a focus on full service and good value. In January 2020, Conga became Exizent’s Internal talent team, and we got to work.
Journey from startup to a stable team and sale.
We began hiring for the Glasgow HQ in mid-January 2020 (just before the first Lockdown). We had a purpose, an ambitious roadmap and energy and drive. But, we had quite the challenge: Exizent were a brand-new company with no website, no LinkedIn presence and no-one had heard our story before. The technical skills that we needed were hard to find and in demand, plus we wanted to build high performance team and a values led culture that everyone could be proud of.
The service was focussed on building the employee brand from day one by telling a consistent story with every interaction. Working from the long-term organisational plan, we advised on each role and then led the entire talent acquisition process. We wrote all the content, adverts, FAQs and helped with the website. We set up all the tools and processes, adjusting as we grew to make everything as slick as possible. We headhunted for many of the roles. We were responsive to questions, problem solved and were quick to hire to make sure we didn't miss out on the good people we wanted.
Everyone in the process, applicants and hiring managers, received all the information upfront and we kept everyone informed of developments as they happened. People told us that the process was enjoyable and different from what they had encountered before. They felt well prepared for interview, had the info they required and knew what to expect at every step. They also really appreciated the feedback at each stage!

What we all achieved.
In year one we hired a 25 strong, diverse, permanent team, remotely through a pandemic with no external agency help! Exizent became a remote first company with a Glasgow base. The Exizenters had built the first ever probate SaaS platform, onboarded their first clients and achieved position #3 in Techround's prestigious FinTech50 for 2021.
In year two the team grew to a stable group of 42 people having still not used an external recruitment agency.
In 2025 Exizent was sold to the Estate Search Group. During the 5 years we worked with them we found them 48 team members.
